All Up In Arms is the product of three years of hard work and determination. Originally, we were a pop-punk band called The Epik, which started in January 06. We recorded a 6 song EP called No Recognition. Then almost a year later, we made an album called Saving Throw. The album was full of pop-punk melodies that sometimes bordered on EMO (not that there’s anything wrong with that). We decided to ditch the pop-punk sound and write songs that have more of a West-Coast Punk sound (aka melodic punk with a hardcore edge).
We decided to change the band name in December 08, but didn’t know what to call us. Ian suggested calling the band “All In Arms, but we decided that it wasn't good enough. We wanted to be angrier because of how things in this country are going. We settled on All Up In Arms, which reflected on both our maturity and our feelings towards the now slowly changing sociopolitical environment, as well as a lot of current social issues that need to change. We also kept the familiarity of our old band logo, because even though The Epik was a little immature, the logo was still frikkin' cool.
